About Us

In 2008, brothers Mohsenipour Reza, Hamid, and Navid, after years of experience as musicians in Iran, moved to Italy to pursue further music studies. During their time in Italy, they found an opportunity not just to continue their musical journeys but to explore new ways of sharing their heritage. In 2012, together with their friend Mona Khalkhal, an artist and passionate cook, they founded Taberna Persiana, a Persian restaurant in the heart of Rome. For them, the restaurant was a way to introduce not only the unique flavors of Persian cuisine to Italian audiences but also to offer a window into the rich, millennia-old culture of Iran.

Food, Culture, and Music of Iran

We offer more than just a meal. We invite you to embark on a journey through the food, culture, and music that make up the heart of Iranian heritage. Every dish we serve tells the story of ancient traditions and methods passed down through generations.

Our restaurant is not just a place to eat; it’s a space where culture, music, and tradition come alive. At Taberna Persiana, cultural events, musical performances, and celebrations of Iranian traditions are as much a part of the experience as the food. We celebrate Iranian holidays such as Yalda and Nowruz, and through our musical group, Barbad Project, we share our passion for Persian music both in Italy and internationally.
